Verwirrender Titel, denn es fliegt sehr wohl etwas ins All, genauer gesagt jemand. Auf Englisch klingt es ein wenig sinniger: “Nix goes to Space”. Gemeint ist Ron Livingston, den ich noch als “Berger” in “Sex and the City” positiv in Erinnerung hatte als er sich in “Band of Brothers” als alkoholkranker Captain Lewis “Nix” Nixon endgültig auf meine Bühne spielte (Ja, ich habe BoB erst sehr spät gesehen). Jetzt hat er eine Rolle in ABCs neuer Space-Soap “Defying Gravity” und fliegt ins Weltall.

ABC schreibt im Promotext auf der Homepage für die Show:

Four women and four men hurtle through space with nothing to do for six years and eight billion miles, except maybe solve a powerful and awesome mystery. Maybe, just maybe, some of them will even hook up. How cool is that?

Defying Gravity is a sexy, provocative thriller set in the very near future against the backdrop of our solar system, in which the eight astronauts from five countries undertake a mysterious six-year international space mission on the spaceship Antares.

They can’t run from karma, however, as their past actions reveal intimate and interconnected relationships that have a strange effect on the present. As the astronauts travel towards Venus, we travel into their past with flashbacks to earlier years from the grueling selection and training process. What could have happened?

Bei YouTube gibt es noch einen Fetzen Promo-Material, vertrieben von Associated Press. Darin erzählt Nix Ron Livingston ein wenig über die Serie. Leider bestärkt er die Schmonzettenbefürchtung nur noch.

Ach ja. *seufz* Süßer, netter, konstruierter Herzschmerz. Ich finde Ron Livingston (und seine smoothe Stimme) recht nett, also werde ich sicher mal ein paar Folgen mitfliegen. Aber ein Hit wird das bestimmt nicht.
